Colorado Avalanche Off-Season Break Down 2023

the 2022-2023 campaign for the Colorado Avalanche felt like it was cursed from the start. When you add a long injury-filled grind to a Stanley Cup Championship and one of the shortest off-seasons on record the outcome is generally not a positive one, and all Avalanche fans found that out the hard way.

Hopefully (Knock on wood) We are well past all of that and for right now let’s move forward with the mindset of it all being behind us.

To start off let’s take a look at the roster situation

We know that Gabriel Landeskog will miss the entirety of the 2023-2024 season after having Cartilage replacement surgery on his right knee. He remains confident and optimistic about playing in the future.

I have not contemplated retirement at all, to be honest with you. It’s just been a matter of finding the best path forward for me. Identifying the problem, and then figure out a solution. Until I’ve exhausted every option, then I’m just going to keep pushing forward. Is it going to be a long road? Yeah, but motivating factors are plenty. Obviously, the last time I was on the ice in a game-time situation, was Game Six down in Tampa Bay, and we were the winners of the last game of the season. That’s enough motivation in and of itself. And I think watching our team this year has been very motivating. There’s been so many times where I just wish I could tie up the skates and go out there and play with them. I know that time will come.”
